Eat: Urban Table

Over the weekend, we had the pleasure of enjoying a night out with friends at one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants, Urban Table. Everything is uber charming and cool, from the industrial light fixtures to the way they present the checks during breakfast and lunch - in an old hardback book featuring messages from patrons.

We started off the evening with the polenta fries and bruchetta - plus sangria of course. Everthing was delish!
From left: fresh mozzerella, tomatoes, basil pesto
prosciutto, fig jam, mascarpone;
roasted chicken, apricot jam,  fontina
candied pepper bacon, diced tomato, fontina, balsamic reduction

Then came our entrees. Here's a small sample of what we ordered.

Pan Seared Salmon with heirloom tomato panzanella, avocado,
  red onion, champagne mustard vinaigrette

Herb Encrusted Pork Chop with rustic cheddar mashed, blistered tomatoes,
  white wine demi glaze*

Shrimp Buena Terra with grilled shrimp, roasted corn, bacon,
  romaine, fontina, red pepper pesto buttermilk dressing
While the food was excellent, the company was superb! Here are a few pics of actual people - so you know I didn't order everything photographed above ...

My hubby and me - date night!

If you haven't been to Urban Table, check it out soon. And don't just go there for dinner - their breakfast is one of my absolute favorites, and lunch is amazing too, especially when the weather is pleasant (like it has been these past few days - thank you 80s!) and you can sit on their patio. Hope to see you there!
