Dear Santa: My Holiday Wish List

I know the season is about giving, and believe me, I have some great gifts in store for my loved ones, but that doesn't mean a girl can't have a Christmas list of her own! Here's what I've been eyeing lately and would love to unwrap on Christmas morning (you pick and choose Santa!)

Kate Spade Saturday

We LOOOVVE Kate Spade. We can't afford any of the clothing, shoes or many of the accessories, but it doesn't stop us from visiting their store on the Plaza every time we're down there. Everything is just so.damn.cute. It's ridiculous.

So, you can imagine how excited we were when we found out about Kate Spade Saturday! No, it's not an event, but a lower-priced line! It launches this Spring and all items will be available at Saturday.com.

The line will include apparel, swimwear, handbags, jewelry, eyewear, shoes and home décor and be priced at about 50 percent less than most Kate Spade New York goodies. Are you screaming with excitement yet?

Just another reason I could skip the winter season all together.

Baby Fever

Oh yes, the Fertility Gods have been working overtime lately; everyone in my life seems to be pregnant right now, including my lovely sister Melina.

This past weekend, we hosted the first of two showers for Melina and Baby and had a wonderful time at a hidden gem outside of our hometown of Nixa, Missouri - Sunshine Valley Farm, known this time of the year for delicious apples ...

 -- and the most amazing cinammon rolls I have ever had the pleasure of devouring!

I hosted the shower, along with Melina's besties Emily and Ashley. The three of them have been best friends since preschool, and Melina is the first to become a Mama!

Of course, the girls were there to help Melina celebrate ... and open presents.

Don't ask about the bright red lipstick. I do what I have to do to survive. End of story.

Our Yiayia also came down for the shower, so we managed to snap a picture of four generations of Sallas/Childers/Cowie/Bland women.

One of Melina's favorite gifts? Her new diaper bag of course! Thank you, Kate Spade, for coming to Kansas City - we love you!

It was a gorgeous day for a gorgeous Mama-to-be. Congratulations Melina - we can't wait to meet Baby Bland!

Diaper bags for Baby Bland

This is serious folks. My registeries are nearly complete, but I still have one item I can't make a decision on - the diaper bag. You may think I'm being silly, but babies and bags go hand-in-hand for me. When my niece Evie nearly stripped me of my birthday when she arrived just a few hours shy of my special day, I was gifted with Francesca, a  glorious designer handbag from Coach. She was a beauty and cost about as much as my mortgage. So now that it's time for me to push a child out of my hoo-haw, I'm thinking I shouldn't settle on just any old bag. You'll notice these are priced way better than dear old Franny because let's face it, if I'm going to be a mother, I should probably stop having my dad buy all my fancy handbags. Or we could start with child #2?
